How to pronounce methodology
I work with lots of US based professionals on clear American speech.
One word that many foreign born people struggle to pronounce is methodology.
However, once they understand the RULE for pronouncing methodology correctly, they’re able to say it clearly and correctly.
Here’s the rule:
In American English, words ending with logy are stressed on the syllable just before ogy.
Thus, methodOLogy is stressed as I’ve written it below.
Other words that fit into this pattern include:

Of course, once you add ICAL, the stress pattern changes.
Now we have:
Spoken American English is based on syllable stress patterns. Once you can recognize and apply those patterns your speech will sound much more clear and natural.
